The Christian must be separate from the world because we have a different king. We want to become like him, so we do not let the things of this world take our focus off of him. We also yearn to show others the way of truth over having pleasure for a short season. That is why we are different. We need to redeem the time!
Practically, we dress in a way to bring glory to God, and not to ourselves. We run our businesses to advance the kingdom of God, rather than becoming great in wealth or fame. We don’t heap up material things, because we know they shall soon vanish. We speak the truth in love, and give thanks often. We think on things that will guide our hearts nearer our master. We also are careful in recreation, so we don’t waste too much precious time, money, or resources.
Why? For the glory of God!
Is it a burden? Only when we lose sight of our precious Savior who gave all for us!
Will you, along with me, give Him all?
